Italian Chicken Sausage Quiche

INGREDIENTS:

4 links Sausages by Amylu Italian Chicken Sausage with Parmesan Cheese, diced into 1/2" slices
1 Unbaked pastry shell, 9"
1/2 cup Onion, chopped
4 Eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup Cream (or Half & Half)
1/2 cup
Milk
1 Tbsp.
Fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Ground cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp. Black pepper
1 cup Red pepper, chopped
1 cup Yellow pepper, chopped
8-oz.pkg.
Shredded Italian cheese blend

DIRECTIONS:

  • Prick pastry shell with a fork & bake at 400° until just beginning to brown, approx. 5-8 minutes; let cool.
  • Brown chicken sausage in a skillet; transfer to a medium bowl.
  • Add onion to skillet drippings; sauté over low heat until tender; add to sausage in bowl.
  • Stir in eggs, cream, milk, parsley, salt & all peppers.
  • Sprinkle cheese in bottom of pastry shell & slowly pour in sausage/egg mixture.
  • Bake in preheated 425°F oven for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350°F  & continue baking for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Serve after quiche has cooled approx. 10 minutes.

Experiment with different vegetables! Kalamata olives, artichoke hearts and broccoli can all be substituted for the fresh peppers.
